Ellen Brownstone Memorial Fund

The Ellen Brownstone Memorial Fund was created in 1999 in memory of Ellen Brownstone, a devoted supporter of SARI Therapeutic Riding. Sheiky Brownstone, Ellen’s husband, established the fund to subsidize riding lessons for families facing financial challenges.

The Brownstone family has remained deeply committed to this fund, ensuring Ellen’s legacy continues to make a meaningful difference. Families who have benefited from the Ellen Brownstone Memorial Fund often express deep gratitude for the opportunities it provides.

You can contribute to the Ellen Brownstone Memorial Fund directly through SARI using the form below.

Brownstone Family Fund

SARI holds a special place in their hearts for Desi Brownstone and Kandice McKee, Ellen’s son and daughter-in-law. Their son Ben, who has autism, began riding at SARI when he was 8 years old. His weekly SARI day became a cherished part of his routine.

Witnessing Ben’s personal growth and the impact of therapeutic riding on others has inspired Desi and Kandice. They have seen riders flourish physically and emotionally, gaining confidence and developing a connection with the horses.

To ensure this support endures, Desi and Kandice established the Brownstone Family Fund through the London Community Foundation. This endowed fund helps sustain the lesson subsidies created by Sheiky through the Ellen Brownstone Memorial Fund. Desi and Kandice hope that others will join them in contributing to this cause, enabling SARI to continue providing life-changing experiences for riders of all abilities.
